Iranians and Iraqis are the most visited foreigners in Istanbul
Turkish official figures showed that Iranian and Iraqi tourists are among the most visited foreigners to Istanbul.
The Directorate of Culture and Tourism in Istanbul revealed that the city received nearly 3 million foreign tourists during the first half of this year.
According to data, the city received the largest number of tourists, during last June, after the lifting of restrictions to combat the Corona epidemic.
In June alone, the Turkish city received 684,621 foreign visitors, according to Anatolia.
The total number of foreign tourists who visited Istanbul, during the first 6 months of this year, reached 2,720,283 visitors, the highest number in 16 months.
The nationalities of tourists coming to Istanbul during the first half of this year were distributed to 190 countries.
And the Germans ranked first among the list of foreigners who visited Istanbul most, with 70,989 tourists, equivalent to 10.37 percent of the total foreign tourists.
The Iranians came in second place with 54,351 tourists, then the Americans with 39,500 tourists, while Iraqi tourists came in fifth place with 29,567 tourists.
